Made-in-Ghana Campaign Ambassador lauds government

Made-In-Ghana Campaign Ambassador, Ms Emelia Arthur, has expressed gratitude to the government for the support she has been receiving in the execution of her mandate.

According to Ms Arthur, who is also a musician, promoting and patronising what Ghanaians produce should be the priority of each and every Ghanaian as it is an effective way of ensuring self-reliance and prosperity.

She made this observation while speaking at the launch of her “50-Church Patriotic Tour” project at the Sun Lodge Hotel in Accra.

Organised by Adfirst Consult, the tour will take her to 50 churches across the country to sensitise people on the need to patronise made-in-Ghana goods.

The year-long tour is scheduled to take off in Accra on June 17, 2018.

The slogan for the campaign is “Consume What We Produce, Produce What We Consume.”

Ms Arthur was in January 2016 officially appointed by the Ministry of Trade and Industry as the face of its Made-in-Ghana campaign.

She has since been actively engaged with the campaign to bring more awareness to the benefits of producing and patronising well-made Ghana goods.

“It is time for us to get to the people. Research has shown that about 72% of Ghanaians can be regularly found in churches. Hence, the decision to take the campaign directly to them in their churches. We will visit a church each week for one year,” Ms Arthur said.

She expressed gratitude to Adfirst Consult for organising the tour.

She also thanked the sponsors including K.K. Preprah Roofing, Capital O2, and X Natural Mineral Water for coming on board to help spread the good news about made-in-Ghana products.

As part of her bid to arouse public interest in made-in-Ghana goods, Ms Arthur has recorded a song titled ‘Nyame Enndi Yen Aboro’ (God Won’t Forsake Us) to help strengthen her crusade.
